1. What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses; what you bought, sizes, prices and order history.
Payment details: you pay through our checkout provider. We don't see or store your full card number. We receive only limited details, such as the card type, the last four digits and whether the payment went through.
When you contact us: your messages, emails, photos you send (for example of a misprint) and our replies.
When you browse the site: technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, how you arrived at the site, and the contents of your cart. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
If you sign up for emails or the monthly draw: your email address, your marketing preferences, and, if you win, your name, chosen tee and postal address.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health or religious information) and we ask you not to send it. You can browse without giving us your name. We need your contact and delivery details to fill an order.
2. How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: at checkout, by email and through our contact and sign-up forms. Some technical information is collected automatically by our website platform and cookies. Our print and delivery partners pass back delivery and tracking information about your order.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to:
- take, make and deliver your order;
- send you order confirmations, shipping updates and tracking;
- handle questions, misprints, refunds and other consumer law claims;
- run the monthly tee draw, contact winners and publish winners as first name, last initial and state;
- prevent fraud and keep the site secure;
- meet our legal obligations, for example tax and accounting records;
- understand how the site is used so we can improve it;
- send you marketing emails, only if you've agreed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it promptly.
We don't sell your personal information.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what each provider needs to do its job:
| Who | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify (our online store platform) | Runs the website, checkout, order records and emails | All order, account and browsing information described above |
| Our payment provider (Shopify Payments and PayPal, where offered) | Processes your payment and checks for fraud | Your payment details, name, billing address, order amount |
| Our print partner: Colouroo (Brisbane, QLD) | Prints and packs your order | Your name, delivery address and order details |
| Delivery carriers used by our print partner | Deliver your parcel and provide tracking | Your name, delivery address, and phone or email for delivery updates |
| Our email tool: Shopify Email | Sends marketing emails, if you've opted in | Your email address and preferences |
| Analytics and advertising providers | Measure site use and ads, where we switch them on | Browsing information collected by cookies or pixels (see section 6) |
| Our professional advisers (accountant, lawyer) | Accounting, tax and legal compliance | Only what's needed |
| Government or law enforcement | Where the law requires or authorises it | As required |
These providers handle your information under their own privacy policies and security measures.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia. In particular, Shopify stores store data on servers outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States, and payment, email and analytics providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Our printer (Colouroo) prints in Brisbane, Australia.
Before we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, for example by using established providers with published privacy and security commitments.
6. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
Our site uses cookies (small files stored by your browser) and similar technologies to:
- keep your cart and checkout working (necessary; the site won't work properly without them);
- remember your preferences;
- measure how the site is used (analytics);
- show you our ads on other sites and measure them (advertising), for example through the Meta pixel or Google tags, where we switch these on.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the cart and checkout may not work.
7. How we protect it
We use reputable providers with security measures in place, limit who can access order information to the people who need it, and don't keep card details. We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and consumer law purposes, then delete or de-identify them. Draw records are kept for 3 years.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you, and do whatever else the law requires.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing heretotrainhq@outlook.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We won't charge you to make a request. If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll tell you why in writing, unless the law says we can't.
9. Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please email heretotrainhq@outlook.com with the details. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to give you a response within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, or we haven't responded within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): www.oaic.gov.au · 1300 363 992 · GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
